Autumn Term 2025

Building Bridges, Building Bonds!

Big Question: How do we build bridges to help us understand and care for each other?

Narrative:

This term, our Year 1 and 2 children are exploring the theme of Bridges—not just the physical structures, but the emotional and social connections that link us to each other, past and present. Through hands-on activities, teamwork games, storytelling, and creative projects, we’ll be learning about empathy, respect, and collaboration. We’ll also explore real bridges in our local area and around the world, and finish the topic by building a large collaborative bridge that celebrates everything we’ve learned about connection and community.

Article 13: I have the right to find out things and share what I think with others

Article 28: I have the right to good quality education where I am encouraged to be the best that I can be.

PE

Our PE day will be on Wednesdays. Please ensure your child wears appropriate clothing e.g. trainers/ joggers/leggings etc to school. There is no need for children in Foundation Phase to wear school sports kit.

Reading Books

Please encourage a love of reading by setting aside a little time every day to share a book with your child. A great way to develop your child’s confidence in learning is for them to spend at least 10 minutes a day on Reading Eggs . Copies of these passwords can be sent home via reading records/ class dojo.
